"Thomas! Thomas, watch where you're-"

Even as Abel curled closer to his mother, Thomas hurtled himself forward, paying no heed to the man who was walking down the path in the park. "Oh, goodness- I'm so sorry," Tara was levering herself to her feet - it wasn't easy with a sleepy one year old and a precocious toddler, even less so now that she was five and a half months pregnant herself.

It only took her a second to get up, though, and she shifted Abel higher on her hip as she moved to catch Thomas' hand where he was staring up at Charlie with wide, wide eyes. "Sorry, he's not really all that great in watching where he's going, yet." She smiles wider, ruffling Thomas' hair. "We're working on it."

"Well, hello there," Charlie turns when he feels the bump against the back of his leg. He leans down to grin at the young boy, waving at him to show he means no harm. "And where are we off to, off in a hurry like that, wee one?"

He glances up when he recognizes the woman approaching, grinning wider as she gets closer to him.

"Oh, hello Tara! Fancy meeting you here. And is this one of your boys then? Ruddy handsome, he is. He's going to break a lot of hearts one day, I can tell," he says, pleasantly surprised to find himself with company on such a fine afternoon.

"Hello, Thomas," Charlie says to the lad in greeting. He maintains his smile even as the child babbles, and once Tara explains what he's trying to say, he laughs out loud. "Hair's a funny thing, innit? Technically, my hair is red, though it's the shade of a carrot, and all of us with similar hair go around calling ourselves gingers. I don't pretend to understand it, myself." He chuckles, happy to see Tara again.

"I've been well. Keeping busy. And how are you doing? Are you feeling well?" He asks, aware that she's expecting her third child. Blimey, that could be Ron and Hermione, soon enough; expecting their third child. And suddenly, Charlie feels older than he is, in that moment.

"Glad to hear it," he replies. He feels especially responsible towards pregnant women, now that his sister-in-law is expecting herself. Besides that, he likes Tara, from what he knows of her so far. "I imagine a hospital never really has a quiet day. Or so they seem to, from the times I've been in them," he adds with a sheepish smile. He's known a fair few medical witches and wizards both from Hogwarts and all the times he's spent at healing centers for his work with dragons.

"Well, I hope you get to enjoy your time off. You seem like you enjoy staying busy. I'm kind of the same way, myself," he grins.

"Surgery? Even scheduled, that sounds like a difficult job. Still, that's wonderful," Charlie says, watching her with her kids as Abel plays with her hair. "And to balance that with also being a mother, I couldn't even begin to imagine."

"I think they're the most fun when they're young," Charlie says, observing Thomas playing with his stick. "Before you know it, they'll be teenagers."

"Heart?" He whistles. "You couldn't pick something easier, like, say, the brain?" He shakes his head, though his voice is clearly full of admiration. His grin softens when she mentions Jax. "That's wonderful, that you have your family all together here."

"It'll happen sooner than you think," he warns her with a chuckle. "And look out for the quiet ones - my twin brothers were fairly innocent as toddlers and they grew into demons."

"I'm not really one to talk; my field of work is hardly what one would consider light work," he says with a shake of his head and a laugh. Working with dragons felt like pulling teeth sometimes; pulling teeth that could either bite into your skin or set you on fire, depending on the day of the week and the dragon's mood. "But I think the difficulty, I find, is part of the appeal."

"No, I suppose I aren't, aren't I?" He says with an apologetic shrug. "Well, if you ever need advice on how to deal with unruly teenage boys, I was one, once, myself, and I grew up with sometimes demonic younger brothers."

"It is. But I feel like the best parts of life usually come with their own challenges as it is," he agrees. Not that he doesn't appreciate a day when one of the dragons in the sanctuary decides to cooperate, but those days are few and far between as it stands.

"Yes, Ginny," Charlie says, before he pauses. "Wait, how did you know I have a sister?"

"You already know the gender of the baby? Congratulations," Charlie exclaims, delighted by such a detail so as to completely forget about why he thought the woman to know of Ginny already. "Little sisters are a handful though. I hope your boys are ready for that."
