Tara's never been one for... girlfriends. She's always hung out with guys; her best friends growing up had all been male, and she'd never really wanted to be a princess or wear foofy dresses. She's always been sort of a tomboy, but even more than that - when you don't have friends who are girls, you don't do a lot of the girly experiences together.
She's never really understood shopping as a past time, but somewhere she's realised that she's actually got girlfriends, and she actually needs help. With Abel and Thomas, Gemma took care of the shopping, and Tara mostly just kept working until her due date with Thomas, but now...
Now, Tara was getting ready for herself - and more than that, they'd just found out that their baby was a girl. Honestly, that was scarier than a lot of things. Boys? She could handle. Bugs and messes and dinosaurs, she had it covered. But girls?
That's why she asked Helen if she was free today; they'd not told her yet that Tara was having a girl, but besides being Tara's friend, she's also the most feminine woman that Tara thinks she's ever met, so... hopefully it'll be a good time.
